Health examinations are a vital part of ensuring students' overall well-being and play a key role in identifying potential health issues at an early stage.
In view of this, a health examination camp is being conducted at the school under the aegis of Military Hospital (MH), Lansdowne.
The camp was inaugurated yesterday by Lt Col Harneet Kaur Dhindsa, Commanding Officer, MH.
The camp will run for three days. The health check-up includes height and weight measurement, vision, hearing, dental checks, and other vital health parameters. It also includes a psychological assessment conducted by a professional psychologist.
The primary goal of this camp is to identify health concerns before they become serious, and to support students' academic success and holistic development.
On 23 May 2025, under the aegis of GRRC, a comprehensive Disaster Management lecture and fire-fighting demonstration was organized at the school for students and staff. The session was led by Lt. Col Vijay Tomar and his team, who delivered an insightful lecture cum presentation focusing on disaster management, preparedness, response, and mitigation strategies.
Following the lecture, a practical fire-fighting demonstration was conducted, showcasing the correct use of fire extinguishers and essential safety precautions to effectively extinguish fires.
The interactive session proved highly informative and engaging, providing attendees with valuable knowledge about disaster risk reduction, emergency planning, and evacuation procedures. The lecture concluded with a lively Q&A session where students’ queries were thoughtfully addressed.
The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the Principal. The school management is deeply appreciated for empowering both students and staff with crucial skills and awareness to respond efficiently in emergencies and disasters.

A thought-provoking street play on the theme “Water Depletion: Reasons and Remedies” was performed by the students of Grade 12 during today’s school assembly. The play, written and directed by Mr. Rajneesh Tyagi, PGT English, was conducted under the guidance of the Principal to raise awareness about the critical issue of water scarcity.
The students delivered an impactful performance, effectively conveying the important message that “Saving water isn’t just a good idea, it’s a responsibility.” The play highlighted the causes behind water depletion and suggested practical solutions for conservation.
Video editing for the presentation was skillfully done by Mrs. Nikita, PRT Computer, adding to the overall quality of the event.

APS Lansdowne hosted an Inter-School Hindi Debate Competition with great enthusiasm and spirited participation. The event, sponsored by Lansdowne Old Students Association (LOSA), aimed to enhance students’ skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning within a healthy competitive atmosphere.
The topic for the debate was:
“Artificial Intelligence – A Boon or a Curse for the Future”

The event was organized by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, District Pauri, in collaboration with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Government of Uttarakhand.
Key topics covered during the session included child safety, cyber security, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and drug abuse prevention. Experts from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and the CWC engaged with students and faculty, sharing valuable insights on recognizing threats, understanding legal protections, practicing internet safety, and the consequences of drug use.

Lansdowne / Martial Arts and Self Defense Camp organized under the aegis of GRRRC at Army Public School Lansdowne on Friday was concluded by the chief guest Colonel Kuldeep Sirohi, Sena Medal, Deputy Commandant GRRC.
In this camp, 51 students from class one to fifth took training in techniques like general warm up, rolling, general punch, boxing posture, horse stance kicking, elbow hit, head hit, knee hit, slap kick, kicking, knife grip, self defense, etc.
Parents of all the participants were present on this occasion.
The chief guest distributed certificates to the participants and said in his address that along with self-defense, the qualities of self-defense should be used to make others in the society feel safe / which gives birth to a moral ideology in you / as well as helps in making you a strong responsible citizen socially.
The school's principal Vijendra Dutt Sundriyal thanked the school management, parents and trainers including Naik Vipin Rana, Naik Suraj for making this program successful.

2) Various awareness events were organized to observe the day
(a) Principal took a pledge along with the students and staff in the morning assembly to save environment, water, land and life in all forms and also explained about "Chipko movement". Students were also made aware about their role/ responsibilities to conserve the environment.
(b) Paridhi Gusain from grade 8 delivered a short speech on the importance of the environment and it's conservation. She also flashed light on continuous depletion of forests that has caused extinction of various species of animals and birds.
(c) A drawing competition on" Environment conservation" was organized for the students of Primary grades.
(d) Slogan writing competition on "SAVE TREES SAVE LIVES" was organized for junior section.
(e) A "CLEANLINESS DRIVE” was initiated by Staff and students in school premises and nearby places to determine the role of every individual in keeping the surrounding clean.

A Report on the Orientation Pgm
1. An orientation pgm was organized for the parents/guardians of students studying at GF APPS today from 1130-1230h.
ATTENDANCE: The parents of students of LKG & UKG grades. 46 parents were present out of 65.
OBJECTIVES: To make the parents aware of the latest ruling for admission in grade 1 as per NEP 2020. And to increase the str of APS Lansdowne.
2. A team of 02 PRTs alongwith the Principal guided the parents on latest rules and regulations viz, age criteria, documents required and curriculum of grade 1.
Parents were also familiarised with the infrastructure, fees facilities, activities and achievements of APS Lansdowne through a presentation.
3. At the end of the session queries/concerns of the parents were addressed by the principal.

1. A Career guidance and counseling session was conducted today in the school by the Team Career Launcher, Dehradun.
2. Objective : To help students in choosing careers that suit their interests, aptitude and abilities and empower them to make decisions regarding their career selection.
3. Overview of the Session is as under:
First session was attended by the students of 11 and 12 grades alongwith their parents. The session commenced with introduction to the importance of career planning and exploring different career options, insight into emerging career options to detail of universities with their admission process. It concluded with Q/A session.
4. Second session was conducted for the students of grades 9th and 10th alongwith their parents.
The chief Resource person Mr Amit Mittal emphasized the significance of aligning personal interests and strengths for stream selection for career choices. He also guided the attendees on educational pathways and skill development required for specific careers.

6. In the end students were given booklets/resource material containing detail of career option, planning, eligibility and admission criteria etc.
7. All students and parents actively participated in the pgme. Parents appreciated the efforts taken by the school mgt to provide such invaluable platform to their wards where they have got the clarity about their future career prospects. Such pgme doesn't only provide information about various career paths but also encourage students to reflect on their aspirations and inner capabilities. They also mentioned that APS is the only school in the town who conducts such pgme for students.

1. 26th Annual Day function of APS Lansdowne was held on 18th and 19th Dec 2023 in the Surjan Auditorium, GRRC.
2. It was a heartwarming tribute to the "Unsung Heroes of Garhwal Rifles" .
3. The event sought to recognize and honor the remarkable individuals whose contributions have often gone unnoticed but have significantly impacted the history, region's heritage, culture, and progress.

Cleanliness Drive For Swachh Bharat Swachhata Pakhwada
My clean India has now become a mass movement which aims to create an awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. To encourage the spirit of cleanliness and hygiene various activities carried out during the Swachhata Pakhwada from 1 st to 15 September 2023 in our school in line with the guidelines provided by the department of drinking water & sanitation, ministry of Jal shakti, Government of India.

9th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA CELEBRATED AT ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL LANSDOWNE

1. World Earth Day was celebrated in school. Various house-wise competitive activities conducted to observe the day between 18 to 20 Apr 23..
a. Drawing competition on the theme " I love my earth".
b. Speech competition on " world earth day" for junior grade.
c. Essay writing competition on " Save Earth save life" for senior grade students.

1. The director surprisingly visited the school on 21 Mar 2023.

Aerobics and gymnastic sessions
1. Post Annual home examinations, in order to make holistic development of children the aerobics and gymnastic sessions are going on in the school.
2. The sessions are being conducted under the able guidance of experts from the GRRC.

Parent Orientation Programme held at Tithwal APPS
1. In order to increase str of school, an Orientation Programme for the parents of students studying at Tithwal APPS, held today.
2. The parents were informed about APS (infrastructure, facilities, activities, curriculum and future plans) through a powerPoint presentation.
3. The program started with the welcome address by the principal followed by presentation delivered by Dr Manisha, TGT Hindi and Mrs Vipra , PRT. After that admission forms were distributed to the parents and informed about the requisite documents for admission.
4. The Principal also apprised the parents regarding the new rules and regulations related to admission policy as per NEP 2020. Vide NEP ruling, there are only 06 children out of 17 studying in UKG are eligible to get admission in class 1st.
5. 14 out of 17 parents attended the session.
6. The same sessions are planned to be conducted at schools located at Jaiharikhal, gumkhal and nearby places..
Sainik School Entrance Examination Result 2022-23
1. All India Sainik School Entrance Exam for class 6th and 9th was held at various centers all over India in January 2023.
2. Our 08 students appeared for the same. And 07(06 boys and 01 girl) of them qualified written exam.
3. The qualified candidates are being given practice for forthcoming interview.
"Activities conducted on India’s G20 Presidency 2023"
1. A wide range of activities/competitions were conducted in school from 15 to 17 Feb on the subject cited above to make the chilldren aware.
2. The activities include G20 logo making/painting, essay writing on the theme of the event "One earth, one family, one future" and speech for different grades.
3. Students participated in all the activities enthusiastically and the winners rewarded with certificates.
4. The news has been published in all leading Hindi news papers having wide circulation.

1. Pleased to inform your honour that based on the performanes in class 11th, our five meritorious girls students have been selected for scholarship under the Central Govt program "Vigyan Jyoti".
2. Vigyan Jyoti scheme envisages the representation of girls students in different fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the country.
3. JNV Kahirasain, Pauri Garhwal is the representatives of the said program in the distt. Mr JP Balodi, Vice Principal and Mr Jitendra Dhasmana presented a cheque of ₹45,000/- (Each girl has received ₹9,000/). Second installment of the scholarship of ₹15,000/ will be disbursed later.
4. The girls also have been provided an integrated kit of printed study material for engineering and medical exam preparation. At the same time online preparation sessions will also be started for them soon.
